"When we attempted to set foot upon the Ephemeral Causeway, it crumbled away from us, gently returning our bodies to earth." - Elrouor Elshirouor, "First Scroll of Revelation" "I think the Absolute must have been terrible, because the ones who seek it seem always so tragic, so desperate and weighty, so pathetic and murderous, so narrow-minded and cruel." - First Scroll of Hergerit, Aescetig of Herroground "Long after all threat of dangerous specters had disappeared, righteous Inquisitors still scoured the Earth, demanding accounts of any uncommon incident, harassing and interrogating hermits and herbalists, and developing coercive proposals regarding burial sites and rituals." - Elder Sage Rlathoses, "The Chronicles of Antiquity" Eriothet: "It really feels like you're an Inquisitor..."Laotlhelh: "I'm a Healer. Why do you hate talking about yourself so much?" Our protagonists "are both stolid individuals, and reluctant to give sway to any drive too quickly... Yet each approves of the other only because they meet a minimum standard. Neither suspects that the other could have a great moral ambition, nor that they could be capable of achieving it." - Ishiran Ananios, "Analysis of Eriothet and Laotlhelh"
