Raised by War

The Valen siblings were a group of orphans found by a high-ranking military family of the Argent Empire following the death of their parents in a tragic accident. Each sibling was educated and trained for a specific role in their future, as most children in the Empire are. Opposing the Empire are the Auric Crown, and—while officially in a time of peace—clandestine wars are fought between the two factions over resources, territory and influence, far from the eyes of the public. The eldest of the 3 siblings: Ace Valen, became a weapon of necessity and an elite operative of the Empire who's name is spoken more out of fear than praise. Known among Crown soldiers as an apparition, Ace is the product of being thrown into the northmost warzone and being raised by the military's elites. The middle child: Lisa Valen, was raised among Empire nobles and rose just as quickly as her brother through the Empire's officers, standing at the height of military strategy as both nations know it. She became one of the Empire's youngest Generals and continues shaping battlefields that she would never personally walk. Kit Valen was different.  Thrown into the northern war just as Ace was, Kit didn't rise like his siblings, he faltered. Lacking the will to commit acts of violence, even to secure his own saftey, Kit experienced the harsh side of the northern war, and was pulled from the battlefield while his two siblings continued to excel.  3 years later, now 13, Kit enrolled in the prestigous Luminara Academy, a school designed for the future elite of both nations. Among his peers, Kit appears to be a regular student from the Empire, albeit a quiet one. For Kit, the realities of war still linger, and he aims to become a General as he hangs onto the life that both of his siblings lead.
