Year 2028, in a hospital room lay a motionless man in his twenties. Born sick his life reduced to the faint glow of phones and TVs that flickered endlessly around him. These were his only windows to the world, his only companions in the silence. Then, a voice pierced the stillness, soft but insistent. "Hey kid, wanna become a hero in another wor—" "No." "At least let me fini—" "NO!" A bitter laugh cut through the air. "Y’know what? You're better off dead." Suddenly, the harsh, relentless beep of machines filled the room—BEEB BEEB BEEB BEEB BEEB—a cruel reminder of the fragile thread holding him here. (Damn... am I really going to die?) he thought, a heavy sigh escaping his lips. (At least... let me play WTM one last time.) And then, darkness. Cold. Silence. (This book is an alternative version of the original! You can find it on scribblehub with the same name!) (This isn't an ad! You can read this and not the original the story won't connect with each other!)
