A place of cityscapes and towering buildings that drown out the stars at night. When night overcomes the city, it brings with it sinister shadows and monsters that lurk in the dark called Corrupted. These Corrupted seek out humans to hunt and devour. There are warriors that fight these creatures and maintain balance by slaying them and absorbing their dark energy into themselves. These warriors are known as the Switch Guardians. Katherine King knows that monsters exist. When she was a child, she witnessed one murder her mother, and ever since then she knew in her heart that monsters were real. Even when no one believed her, others shunned her, and doctors and specialists told her otherwise, she knew. She always knew. As more time passed, her father moved on and held secrets, while her sister had seemed to forgotten it all. Yet Katherine remained diligent and steadfast in knowing that one truth, even seven years later. While she has not spoken of the incident in a long time, she knows what happened, and holds the memory of her mother close to her heart. When a similar monster attacks her and her friends, she is jolted back to the memory, the feeling, the terror. Frozen with fear, she does nothing as the event unfolds cursing herself for doing nothing, just like back when her mother was killed. She wonders if this will be it, but in the last moment, a shining red energy encases her and the creature to another place. Katherine’s heart leaps as the monster zeroes in and bounds toward her, but is saved in the last moment by a woman called Demitria Fall that tells her she is special and can take on abilities to defeat these monsters. Demi presents her with a choice and a path to take on power, with one catch: To give of her life. A shortened lifespan in exchange for the power to fight. Will Katherine give her life to protect the city and her sister and fight the Corrupted? If she does choose this path, then Demi will train her to become a Switch Guardian just like her. What choice will Katherine make? Will she finally be able to find out the truth of what happened to her mother? Find out by reading Switch Volume 1: Premonition.
