In a world similar to our own where individuals called 'Neuropaths' can control their brainwaves to perform psychic feats, your worth is measured in compliance to the rules. A single mistake, a single strike on your criminal record, will send one's life spiralling out of control. Rin is a failure-- stripped of her psychic ability and half her memories by a near-lethal brain injury. As a member of the maligned species of Ketsujin, shunned by the humans for her race and shunned by her own people for her powerlessness, she has few options left but to become a criminal. She makes a living for herself as an assassin for hire, and after being arrested and sentenced to execution, it seems her time is up-- but unexpectedly, Rin's fate is changed when she is rescued by a beautiful young man named Yugi. Yugi reveals himself to be the angel of metal, sent down by god himself to act as a guiding hand, and provides Rin with a temptingly dangerous offer- join him in his quest to become leader of the city's criminal underground, and change the world for the better.
