Kaelen Vane was never meant to rule. As the second son of a failing House on the bleak Northern Marches, he was content to bury his nose in dusty histories while his father and brother held the line against the savage Mountain tribes. But when a disastrous ambush leaves the House leadership dead and the family banners trampled in the mud, Kaelen inherits a castle on the brink of collapse. He has thirty starving soldiers, a treasury filled with cobwebs, and an enemy army of five hundred marching on his gates. He should be dead within the week. But Kaelen has awakened something else. A strange, blue interface that overlays the world, turning the chaos of war into cold, hard mathematics. He sees the durability of stone, the morale of men, and the hidden potential in the mud beneath his feet. Now, Kaelen must trade his books for a sword and his theories for blood. To save his people, he will have to gamify survival, min-max his economy, and engineer victories where no victory should exist. What to expect - 1) A calm and calculative main character 2) Epic battles 3) Territory management 4) Politics 5) A great world building
