Bayou Blood

Bayou Mounds, Louisiana, was supposed to be just another Southern city caught between old traditions and rapid expansion. New developments rose from the swampland. Federal contracts came and went. Life moved on. Then the nights started changing. What begins as a series of brutal animal attacks slowly reveals something far more dangerous moving beneath the surface of the city. Victims vanish. Entire locations are left in ruins. Officials blame wild dogs and hysteria, but the truth is older, darker, and far more deliberate. Derek Brown, a recently discharged Army veteran trying to rebuild his life, finds himself pulled into the mystery when the violence edges uncomfortably close to home. As the city tightens under curfews and fear, Derek is forced to confront a reality he never believed could exist—one where human limits no longer apply, and survival depends on understanding the monster before it understands you. At the center of it all is a buried military secret tied to a long-abandoned experiment known only as Project Death Claw. What was meant to create something controllable has instead awakened something predatory—an inherited strain of power that spreads, adapts, and binds its hosts together in ways no one anticipated. As Derek crosses paths with Detective Olivia Hale and a reclusive former government scientist, the pieces begin to fall into place. The threat is not random. It is organized. Intelligent. Expanding. And some of the infected are far closer than anyone realizes. Bayou Blood: The Awakening is a cinematic, action-horror web novel blending grounded military realism with supernatural terror. It explores family, loyalty, and identity under extreme pressure, where love and instinct collide, and where the line between protector and predator grows dangerously thin.
