L.O.V.E. (The Loving Order of Violent Enforcement magical girl agency) has been infiltrated by the very enemy they exist to destroy. One girl is already dead, and the traitor has dragged L.O.V.E. to its breaking point.
By some miracle, HeHeHe has bought them out. Now it’s up to Mac and his fellow henchmen to root out the betrayer and then pay back the favor. They might even pick up some new recruits along the way.
Natalia, Safety Ed, Tiera, Amethyst, Joe, and a rich corporate heiress with a price on her head return to help Mac save the agency, the academy, and each other’s lives.
What to Expect:
☑ Stand alone read
☑ Clean, comedic contemporary fantasy set on the edge of tomorrow
☑ A wider cast of highly developed characters
☑ An emotional range of highs and lows
☑ Magical girls, vampires, catgirls and kobolds
☑ Plenty of gritty action
☑ Comedic romantic subplots among the minor charaters
☑ The band of five... as villains
☑ Uncomfortably shelved between Sir Terry Pratchett and Madoka Magica
ARC I
Good help is hard to find.
The mega-corporation, HeHeHe has finally reached a conclusion. They should hire Mac instead of trying to kill him. Despite their best efforts, it was getting expensive.
Mac has already survived the rocket launchers, rabid chimps and even the grand piano in a shipyard that ruined a perfectly good date. However, can their offer be any worse than the overly cheery necromancer from a morning children’s show and his lawyer. What else could HeHeHe throw at him, and why does it feel like his luck is standing in the corner hiding something sharp behind its back while chuckling ominously?
With the medical bills of an extended hospital stay piling up and rent overdue. Mac needs a job. Any job. Even the shady, HeHeHe with more sub-organizations than a fae has contracts and an HR run by a vampire would be better than the street. Probably.
They’d better provide childcare.
What to expect:
☑ Slow build relationships with a large cast of misfit characters that grows over time.
☑ Situation and character driven humor
☑ Clean language and laughs
☑ Comedic romantic subplot
☑ Zombies (some in less debt than others), vampires and other fantastical races
☑ Edge of tomorrow setting in an alternate world
☑ An AI that should never have escaped the lab once, let alone twice.
☑ There are no shapeshifting dragons, werewolves, or ghosts that inhabit computers. They’re not real.
☑ Ideally shelved between Douglass Adams and Sir Terry Pratchett
*No AI was used in the making of these stories, not even for editing. Miss Windsor would not tolerate that kind of thing. We're not telling her about the cover art.
