High fantasy Isekai about strangers, power, trust, and monsters. Emma and Calen are a week away from safety when the warheads arrive. In the blinding double-flash of a nuclear fireball, they go from stargazing and worrying about eggshells making it into their shared birthday cake, to a desperate scramble for survival as the world finally finishes falling apart. Neither one of them expects to be scooped out from under the next fireball and deposited on the surface of an alien planet, but the universe doesn't care about things as small as human expectations. Dragonborn expectations are another matter entirely, but Mirri and her cousin Viran are almost ready to shoulder their chosen burdens this Welcoming Night. After almost a year, her scars from the arena are healed enough that she can stand to be seen, and Viran has a whole season to fix his grasp on mana well enough to prove himself worthy of inheritance before the circling wolves tear him apart. The true test of resolve happens when a single comet worth of Arrivals becomes hundreds, with the gods scattering millions of humans across the surface of Avarea. A routine clearing of a monster nest under the wings of a visiting hero becomes a race against time to protect the mysteriously sickened humans from the jaws of monsters. With blood on the valley soil, opportunistic vultures circling, and disaster on the horizon, the four of them will have to learn to trust each other if they want to see another sunrise, because unfortunately for them, the literal monsters in the woods aren't the only things who think the humans from the sky look tasty today. Every hero has enemies, and today, they're going to have to make some enemies of their own, just to survive.WHAT TO EXPECT -A slow-burn, character-focused, Progression Fantasy Isekai -Four different party members, each with their own POV sections, values, goals, morals, and narrative styles.
