A nameless boy awakens while plummeting through a silent, storm-like void made of living darkness. With no memories and a missing right arm, he drifts downward, unnoticed by the strange shadowy entities passing him by. Just as despair sets in, a radiant light appears below—his first glimpse of hope. But when he falls through it, something cold and metallic attaches to him. He emerges in a vast ocean, panicking as he sinks. A new mechanical arm—mysteriously fused to his body—drags him deeper no matter how hard he fights. As he drowns and his vision fades, he glimpses a colossal ancient wall encircling a glowing coral reef. In his final moment before blacking out, the impossible happens: the massive wall begins to move.
