Vale never imagined he would have to fight monsters, but in this world, survival leaves little choice. Stripped of all his memories, Vale awakens in a land where humanity battles creatures known as Spawn. Here, people wield supernatural abilities and grow stronger by conquering deadly Trials. Vale possesses an ability as well—but unlike the powers of those around him, his seems utterly useless in combat. He cannot be detected by anything beyond the five senses. He has no reflection, no shadow, and not even a supernatural technique can perceive him. Though weak and lost in an unforgiving world, Vale is forced to fight alongside people far stronger than himself. Yet even as he struggles to survive the Trials and the horrors within them, one goal continues to drive him forward: To uncover the truth of who he is… and who he once was.
