More specifically, he, now she, is a Pearl, a member of the Gem Empire's dedicated slave caste.This, for a vast variety of different reasons, is a problem. One that this particular Pearl is rather intent on solving.(SRL as a story is set in the world of Steven Universe, though with large gaps that the show never elaborated upon filled in with original content.)
