Magic and technology have come together in the middle of an industrial revolution transforming life and commerce, and wrestling dominates the entertainment industry. In it, souls captured after their deaths are forced by airtight contracts to fight one another in spectacular fights, thrilling audiences for the modest price of a ticket.
Diego Casanova, a bright-eyed martial arts aficionado, is tragically murdered in a mugging gone wrong. But death is not the end of his story, and quickly finds himself in a strange new world, purchased in a sale by Dirtha, a calculating businesswoman aiming to get ahead in the competitive wrestling industry.
Now, turned into an undead made up of different body parts stitched together, Diego is forced to follow his new contract and play the role of the villainous wrestler Hellmask for the enjoyment of the public, or risk losing whatever freedom he still retains.
Can Diego build a new life or will this bizarre and violent world crush him down?
