The Dark Tide

The world didn't end with a bang. It ended in silence hours after humanity discovered it wasn't alone. Mana broke over Earth, and everyone fell unconscious. David Murphy was up early for work when the wave arrived. He missed the arrival of the Herald and was just trying to get caught up on his socials. After betrayal and a botched initiation, he wakes in an empty city where apocalypse is defined by the absence of people.  There is a system promising help as other darker things emerge to hunt. David isn't a warrior, or a leader, at least not yet... He's a normal guy, with normal guy problems like a demanding boss, a job that barely pays the bills and an ex rather than current girlfriend. In a sleeping city of the dead and dying, David needs allies. Luckily, he isn’t the only early riser. Join David as he bands together with other survivors. Can they master the system that's offering help, and maybe hope, or will they succumb to the consequences of the tide as civilization falls?  What to Expect: Apocalyptic LitRPG - System mechanics and people rising to face the end of the world. Weak to Strong MC - David starts as an analyst with a pocketknife, not a warrior. MC focus – most action will follow David with occasional scenes and chapters from other perspectives. Individual Systems – Not all powerful but personal and far from universal. Gradual World Reveal - An expansive universe unveiled through exploration. Horror elements – It’s the end of the world so expect some nasty events and consequences. A thinking, growing MC - Applying what he knows at the outset and growing.   Found Family - Built through blood, magic, and shared trauma.
