Do Some Harm

There are two problems with superpowers: The first is that the stronger the power, the worse the associated drawback is. The second is that anyone can get them.  Dr. Vivian Amsel is a well-respected surgeon, sharp and quick-thinking. Even before her ability blossomed, she was at the top of her field, able to pull off procedures most surgeons wouldn't dare attempt. Gaining a power didn't change that.  She's also a vigilante, donning a silly costume and assuming the identity of Beaker: a potion-throwing, Shakespearean English-butchering, scenery-chewing plague doctor with a penchant for the dramatic. The world around her is far from whimsical, though. Dealing with her dispower; a complete and total lack of immune system, is hard enough. Going out at night was supposed to be a way to do good as well as an escape from the stresses of her day, but dangerous factions and gray situations continually complicate her reprieve, as she tries to cling to an identity that only gets murkier with every decision she makes.
