Game Master in Another World
by Hads
Geoff is a forever Dungeon Master who takes pride in keeping his players entertained. His games run smoothly thanks to careful preparation and a flair for storytelling. But after what seems like a normal day, Geoff awakens in another world — as a formless entity, able only to move and observe. Trapped in a new world with no body, can Geoff adapt to his new existence, or will he succumb to despair?
What to Expect:
Genre: Isekai / Fantasy — slow, character-driven progression rather than game mechanics.
Tone: Slow-burn and quiet for long stretches: warm village life, small rituals, and domestic details sit beside sudden, brutal action and moral unease.
Narrative hook: Told from a narrator who begins as an observer and slowly learns to act in the world. The idea of a “Game Master” is present as a thematic/device, but it’s lightly used — this is not a mechanics-first LitRPG. The narrator’s ability to influence events is subtle and ambiguous rather than a system of levels or stats.
Pacing & structure: Gentle opening chapters focused on village rhythms and relationships; stakes escalate later into tactical, violent encounters and hard choices. Character change is character-first, not level-by-level.
POV & style: First-person/near-first-person observer-narration (Geoff) that occasionally occupies other bodies; introspective, sometimes unreliable, and often very present in small domestic moments.
Romance: Slow-burn yuri (f/f) developing over many chapters — quiet, tender, and realistically paced.
Themes: Identity, responsibility, what it means to protect someone, the cost of intervening versus watching.
Content warnings / polarizing notes: Contains graphic violence and cruelty, torture/mutilation, childbirth death, child death, and morally grey protagonists. If you dislike grisly scenes or unsettling antiheroes, this may not be for you.
Updates: 3 Chapters per week
