He moves through alleys and courts like a quiet storm, rewriting history with every subtle, dangerous choice. But treachery strikes again. A trusted member betrays the clan, killing many and delivering others into captivity in the hands of a ruthless rival faction; at the very outset, Krutam's leadership is tested, and the clan teeters on the edge of ruin. Yet far beyond the politics of men, an older threat stirs—one that cares nothing for ambition, empires, or dreams of conquest.
