Nobody likes Molly. She’s small, mousy, timid, a demon-kin, and an honest-to-the-gods witch. So when the town bundles her up and hands her over to the First Empire of Flame Inquisitor, she figures it’s a straight march to Berkhanstead for a tidy little beheading. kalek isn’t at all what she was expecting. The guy could have walked off the pages of one of her stolen romance novels, but he shows no interest in her. Other than not killing her and basically letting her live with him. It's confusing, how is she supposed to be the main character in her own romance story if Fire Islander’s don’t do romance?

Both levers trail the field
Traffic and conversion are both below comparable stories. Cadence is the first lever — stories posting near-daily reached 25 followers 17% of the time; stories posting every few days almost never did. Get the flow going, then re-check conversion.
Benchmarks: 8,060 active Royal Road stories, percentiles within the 10–19 chapters band, cohort of 2026-07-02. Conversion is measured as followers gained per 1,000 views over the recent window.
