The Obsidian Assembly [SuperHero/Urban Fantasy/Found Family]

Rian Kearney is fast. Like, zero to Mach 2 at the drop of a pin fast.  But speed doesn’t mean much when you’ve been abandoned with an older brother who won’t let you use it.  Six months ago, Dad’s new moon base was raided. Now, Rian is still struggling to survive after being left to his own devices with his adopted siblings, and it’s getting harder every day. There’s no power. No running water. There’s no money left, and taxes are past due.  Spiros wants to do what they were told; keep their noses clean and stay under the radar. Rian doesn’t think this will be possible for much longer. ORBIT, the Oversight and Response Bureau for Irregular Threats, is closing in. It doesn’t matter how ‘good’ they are, or how well they keep their powers secret. ORBIT is at their school, and practically on their front doorstep.  To Rian, it’s clear that survival is no longer a simple case of staying fed, warm, and dry. If they can’t get some fast cash, fix up their joint, and throw off ORBIT’s scent soon, there’s a good chance his found family won’t make it through the winter.  That might mean breaking the law.
