Mahoishi: The Day Magic Found Me

Markus was already having the worst day of his life — he’d flunked out of high school, when his school caught fire with his best friend Alexia trapped inside. He barely survived the rescue. When Markus wakes in the hospital, he learns Alexia holds a strange stone — a Mahoishi, a relic that lets humans wield magic. Suddenly, he’s faced with the truth: Earth is full of impossible creatures and dangerous powers. With no training, Markus is thrown into a fight for survival. But the deeper he’s pulled into this new world, the clearer it becomes — he must become the hero the world needs.
