The Unknown [Dark High-Fantasy / Eldritch Chaos Mage]

The Hero won. Humanity did not. The Golden Hero rose above the darkness of the Demon King and sealed the Demiurge in his own torment. Most of the humanity, however, did not survive. Amidst the ruins of a barely reconstructed civilization, Sieghart was crowned sovereign over the very magic of Chaos that once tyrannized humanity.  The fourteen-year-old boy spent his entire life fighting in his dreams against the Unknown, a world of demonic nightmares attached to his own soul. Only he, with his crimson eyes, can perceive the madness that dwells behind the veil of reality and the things that should not be seen. Sieghart found himself terrified by his curse, fearing that the Golden Flame that resides above the heavens would reject his pleas and break his hands when he raised them in supplication. Forced to carry all the world's evil on his shoulders, the battle left him angry and bitter. His fear turned to paranoia, his anger to rage, and the virtues that once drove him forward began to slip through his pale, calloused fingers. Tears dried up, and his eyes lost their emotion. His only option was to lie down on the ground and perish alongside the worms of the earth. But he refused. Even under the dangers of a strange and ancient creature that found him in the Unknown, Sieghart decided to destroy his curse, even if he had to use the feared Chaos Magic to face the horrors of the forgotten world. Will the boy be able to overcome his evil nature, freeing himself from fears and lies to transcend, or will he fail and die like the rest of men? WHAT TO EXPECT: THE UNKNOWN is a traditional dark high-fantasy story with: - A legendary and mythological world with religious undertones and imagery. - A deep and complex power system based on arcane and divine magic. - A mage protagonist that focuses on eldritch Chaos Magic (Entropy, Disorder, Instability, Randomness, Disharmony, etc). - Action-packed battles with focus on technique and creativity. - No litrpg nor game mechanics.  - “Progression” without numbers, evolution based on lessons gained by completing the nightmarish floors of The Unknown (1 per arc).
