The 90's Kid [A Cozy-Comedy Time Travel Adventure]

Jace couldn’t believe it. It was a summer morning in 2020 like any other, and the next thing he knew, his uncle Wes had taken him through a time portal that somehow existed inside his kitchen pantry door, all the way back to 1995! Wes claims he didn’t create the thing, but that didn’t stop him from using it a second time following a first visit to his beloved past. No smart phones, no social media, the rise of the internet and more TV shows and video game mascots than anyone can count… Not to mention that the guy’s obviously planning to spy on his younger self and his childhood friends again, the weirdo! Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if they were just eating pizza and seeing movies alone on their “long weekend temporal getaway,” but both of them quickly start suspecting that they're being followed. Creepy eyes popping out of time portals, cryptic warnings to go home, a local spy girl who is way too curious, a stalking ninja who can appear anywhere, and maybe even time cops keep trying to ruin Wes’ plans to plant Jace into his old friend circle to “give himself a better future.” Ah, well. The guy seems to think his 90s childhood was one big Saturday morning cartoon, so maybe it’ll all be okay and end with a nice little lesson. Someone who provides unlimited fast food and encourages arcade visits and TV-watching can’t be all bad. Maybe. The big question is, what’s lurking under the local amusement park? Created as a Valice.net project, The 90's Kid is a mostly light-hearted story designed to transport the reader to the 1990s, whether or not they lived through the decade, but anyone with a childhood can enjoy the adventure. The movies and side stories increase the scope even further. Contains mild, occasional profanity and a few scary moments. Note that The 90's Kid uses a slightly bigger text size than usual. This is to more closely preserve the original formatting. It is also imagined and written as an animated series. Try visualizing it like you would a cartoon!
