For the last five years, Crown Prince Antares Xerxes had been exiled for the slaughter of Nykolas Xerxes: his closest friend and the only man whoever truly understood him. Stripped of his titles and honors and right to marry the woman he loved, he was cast adrift without purpose or direction forced to bear the horrors of this terrible act. However years later King Barranagan Xerxes, legendary hero and father of the exiled prince, with his dying wish decreed that his wayward son return home and assume the crown of Iliad in his stead.
